Install Instructions - Page 1
A. INTRODUCTION
The Power Up! Install program you are now running lets you copy DOS onto your
Power Up! program diskette and install your Power Up! program on a hard disk.
All functions of the Install program are controlled from its Main Menu.
While viewing the Install instructions, you can go directly to a specific
section or page by typing the section letter or page number, then pressing
Enter. You can also print the instructions by pressing F3 whenever the
instructions are displayed. Use either continuous-form paper or single sheets
for printing; the program will prompt you to choose. The printed instructions
are three pages long.
B. THE INSTALL MAIN MENU
The Install Main Menu has four options. Before selecting an option, make sure
your Power Up! program diskette is in drive A and that it is not write-
protected. To make a selection from the Main Menu, type the selection number,
then press the Enter key. To return to the Main Menu after reading these
instructions, press F10.

Following is a discussion of each of the Install Main Menu selections:
1 SELECT ME FIRST
The first menu selection displays the Install program instructions--the
instructions you are now reading.
2 Install DOS on the Power Up! diskette
Selection 2 lets you install DOS on your Power Up! diskette. Have your
DOS system diskette handy, and carefully follow the directions displayed
on the screen.
3 Install the Power Up! program on a hard disk
Selection 3 lets you install your Power Up! program on a hard disk.
Once installed, your Power Up! program can be run without using the
Power Up! diskette.

When the Install program asks you to specify your hard disk identifier,
type in the drive identifier (and pathname, if appropriate) for the
directory that you want the Power Up! program installed in. For
example, to install the program in a subdirectory named POWERUP on a
hard disk labeled C:, you would type C:\POWERUP\.
This is the only way to copy your Power Up! program onto your hard disk.
You can install the program up to five times. If you have partitioned
your hard disk (divided it so that a part of it is called C:, a part D:,
for example), the partition that you want to install the Power Up!
program in must be at least two megabytes in size.
4 Exit
When you have finished using Install, choose selection 4 to exit the
Install program and return to DOS.

D. IF YOU DON'T HAVE A HARD DISK
If your computer does not have a hard disk, first choose selection 2;
following the instructions provided, install DOS on your Power Up! diskette.
Next, choose selection 4 to exit the Install program and return to DOS.
With DOS installed, run your Power Up! program by placing the program diskette
in drive A and following one of these steps:
o Turn on your computer.
o If your computer is on and the DOS A> prompt is displayed, type POWERUP.
o If your computer is on, but there is no DOS prompt, press Ctrl-Alt-Del.
